MEET THE COACH!

Leah Tymeson

I am a local pitching coach who has been playing and coaching for 19 years. I played and graduated from Avon Grove High School in 2006. During high school I played mostly pitcher and 3rd base. I then became a utility player for Florida Institute of Technology (DII) starting at almost every position (pitcher, catcher, outfield, infield). I also was a utility player at Brevard College playing mostly pitcher, 3rd and 1st base. I graduated from Millersville University with a degree in Earth and Space Science Education.

Since graduation in 2012, I have been giving private pitching lessons and working and running camps and clinics teaching all skills. I have also coached at Octorara High School, Great Valley High School and have recently taken over the program at Unionville High School. I also teach middle school science at Agora Cyber Charter School.

Although I enjoy coaching all aspects of the game, I have a true passion for pitching. I have been studying and practicing pitching for 19 years where I have developed the knowledge of mechanics and skills that will make the pitcher the best they can be. I focus on good mechanics (which will prevent injury and maximize speed), proper timing and use of the correct muscles throughout the pitch, and proper movement and control. Using my teaching background, I explain these concepts in depth during lessons to ensure the pitcher understands why and how to do something the correct way, engraining the concepts.

I encourage the involvement of parents and coaches. When parents and coaches are involved, they can also learn to recognize correct mechanics and reinforce those mechanics when the player is practicing on their own.
